KELTY Children's Gala are celebrating a successful event with their new committee at the weekend.
This year’s big day out had a mining theme to celebrate the town’s heritage.
Traditional entertainment was on offer this year, with fairground rides, a tug of war, races, and face painting among the attractions.
It all kicked off at noon on Saturday from Kelty Industrial Estate. The races began at 2.30pm for all nursery and primary school-aged children.
The committee posted on their Facebook page: “I am so very proud of our committee this year!
"We have all worked so hard, as you know we started from scratch this year with an almost entirely brand new committee - excluding Helen our treasurer who has been doing this for 24 years today.
“And we pulled it off.”

The gala in Kelty has been taking place for 135 years, but this was the first for an almost brand-new committee who took over organising the event.
The committee added: “We would like to thank every single person who showed up today, whether that was in the parade, down the park, or behind the scenes.
"Teamwork really does make the dream work.”
“And another great big thank you to everyone who has been exceptionally patient with us this year whilst we have taken the time needed to get our feet on the ground and wrap our heads around it all.
“We can't wait for next year as we know we will hit the ground running.”
