FIFE'S largest credit union has celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Kingdom Community Bank- which has a branch in Dunfermline's Kingsgate- marked the occasion and its significant growth with a series of events.

With over 7,000 members, the community bank is the biggest in the Kingdom and prides itself on being a "friendly, local, ethical alternative to mainstream banks and high-cost lenders."

Janice Gourlay was the first-ever member and is now on the Board of Directors after serving as chairperson for several years.

She said: "I can’t believe how much it’s transformed – from a small credit union to the multi-million pound, professionally managed financial institution it is today. It has far exceeded our expectations.”
