POPULAR soul band ‘Lights out By Nine’ are set to perform for the first time at Dunfermline’s Fire Station Creative.
The band were due to play at the venue last year, but this was cancelled as a result of the tragic death of band member, Dougie Hunter.
Sax player, George Morrison, commented: “It’s been a tough time for us all losing our leader and bass player, but we’re so happy to get out locally, play and engage with an audience and build relationships again.”
Their origins are rooted in soul music and mixed with rhythm and blues, and a blend of New Orleans funk.

The band have performed at Barrowland in 2003 as part of the Frankie Miller tribute show, headlined by Joe Walsh of the Eagles.
Before he passed away, Dougie said: “We did two sell out shows in consecutive years at the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline supporting Nazareth, and a few Dunfermline Soul Club gigs there as well.
“Our affiliation with Dunfermline is strong. Fife Provost, Jim Leishman, is also a huge fan of the band!”
The group will be performing in Fire Station Creative on Saturday, July 13.
Venue Director, Ian Moir said: “This is a top act and we expect to sell out promptly, so please don’t hesitate to buy your tickets.”
Tickets can be purchased from Eventbrite.
