A POLICE officer was bitten after being called to deal with a woman behaving erratically at a Dunfermline pub.

Yasmin Callaghan, 19, formerly of Cowdenbeath, now of Kirkcaldy, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on April 5 at The Old Inn, Kirkgate, she assaulted a police officer by biting him.

She also admitted that at the pub, in a police vehicle and at Dunfermline police station, she repeatedly shouted, swore, acted aggressively, made abusive remarks and threats of violence towards police officers.

Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said at 11.30pm police were called to reports of a woman behaving erratically.

They found her apparently intoxicated and were putting her in the back of a police vehicle when she tried to run off.

An officer took hold of her and she bit at his hand.

She then shouted, “I’ll f****** kill you all. I don’t give a f***.”

She continued with this behaviour at the police station.

Defence solicitor Gino Gambale said, “This will be a lesson for her and she’s been ostracised by her family."

He added that his client could remember nothing about the offence.

Sheriff William Gilchrist deferred sentence for good behaviour until December 18.
