WEST Fife youngsters are preparing to head to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Kingdom Theatre Company, which rehearses in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy, will be taking their show Shapiro: A Pop Star Musical to this year’s festival.
The musical is based on the early life of UK singer Helen Shapiro, who by the age of 15 had two number one singles.
By 16, she had five top ten hits and toured the UK with The Beatles as her support.
Supporting Ann-Marie Miller as Helen, and Stuart McLean as Norrie Paramor, is the young cast of Theo Hart (15), Amelie Christie (14), and Lily B. Martin (13).

The youngsters attend Inverkeithing High School, Queen Anne High School, and Dunfermline High School, and have all been involved in musical productions before.
As the youngest member of the cast, Lily commented on her theatre career so far: “I am very excited. It’s all I do really, all the time.
“It’s so lovely to have a hobby that you have and you do, and you meet so many people and you get so many opportunities.”
The trio have a wealth of stage experience between them. Amelie performed in the Limelight Carnegie Youth production of Les Misérables in June, while Theo has appeared in both Oliver and Les Misérables this year.

Lily is also currently rehearsing for The Wizard of Oz and Chicago and is preparing to start the Junior Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in September.
The show will feature songs such as Walking Back To Happiness to take you back to the 1960s, but there will only be six shows in August.
If you want tickets, these can be purchased from the Fringe website.
It will run from August 12 to 17.
