A NEW art exhibition showing the evolution of Dunfermline over the last century has opened at Queen Margaret Hospital.
The ‘Old Dunfermline’ exhibit, which is supported by Stephens Bakery, features long forgotten buildings, people, and streets that no-longer exist.
The exhibit opened within the hospital’s community art gallery, which was established last year.
Old Dunfermline is the second exhibition to feature since the gallery opened last year, following hot on the heels of a successful exhibition by the Dunfermline Photographic Association.

Mark McGeachie, Director of Fife Health Charity, said: “Old Dunfermline is a really welcome addition to Queen Margaret Hospital and we are incredibly grateful to Old Dunfermline and Stephens Bakery for bringing the popular exhibit to our community gallery.
“Art plays a hugely important role in hospitals and health centres in Fife, helping to reduce stress and anxiety and providing inspiration during difficult times.”
Old Dunfermline’ is supported by Stephens Bakery, one of Fife’s oldest family businesses.
Talia Sarafilovic, joint managing director of Stephens, recently visited the exhibition to enjoy a walk through the history of Old Dunfermline.
Mark added: “The city of Dunfermline has an incredibly rich history and heritage and we are sure this new exhibition will be interesting to those coming to Queen Margaret Hospital from across Fife, and further enhances the connection between the hospital and the wider community it serves.”
