IMPROVEMENTS have begun to Dunfermline's city centre as benches are replaced and railings are repainted.
It comes after local councillors and council officers visited Dunfermline High Street for a ‘walkaround’ where they identified several small-scale improvements.
The City of Dunfermline Area Committee awarded £20,000 for this work to be carried out and committee convener, Cllr James Calder visited the area to see the works.
He said: “We all want to see our city centre looking great and inviting. These new benches create a better impression and they’re more comfortable to sit on too!
"The Community Payback team also helped with improvements by painting the railings and benches in the gap site - thanks for all your hard work.
"This is only the start; we’ll continue making improvements to our city centre in the coming months."
