A KELTY man assaulted his partner after an early morning row.

Sean McDougall, of North Drum Street, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on December 17, at Adamson Crescent, Dunfermline, he assaulted his then partner by seizing her by the body and pinned her to the ground.

The 28-year-old also damaged a mobile phone by throwing it against a wardrobe causing it to break, punched a door damaging it, repeatedly banged on the front door and threatened to force entry to it.

Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said it was a short-lived relationship that lasted just a couple of months.

The incident occurred after his client had been looking after his partner's child while she had been working.

A row broke out after they were woken up by the child screaming early in the morning.

Sheriff David Hall imposed a community payback order with a year of supervision and a two-month restriction of liberty order.

McDougall was also put on a one-year non-harassment order.
