A WOMAN was slapped, grabbed by the throat and chased by her partner in Dunfermline.

The assailant was Mark Lamond, formerly of Chapelfauld Green, now Victoria Road, Buckhaven, who has appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on March 17, at his then home, assaulted his partner by slapping her on the face, threw a tin of baked beans over her and seized her by the throat with both hands and attempted to choke her.

The 35-year-old also chased her and seized her phone from her hand to her injury.

He then damaged property by stamping repeatedly on a mobile phone, damaging it.

Sheriff David Hall was unimpressed by Lamond’s behaviour and showed his displeasure saying: “I don’t know who you think you are.”

The sheriff imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision and 200 hours of unpaid work.

Lamond will also undertake the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders and was put on a two-year non-harassment order.
