WORK has been underway in preparation for the opening of Scotland’s biggest combat sports and commercial 24-hour access gym in Rosyth.
Goliath Gym will be the latest mixed martial arts gym for Goliath MMA, who have previously set up venues in Cowdenbeath and Kelty.
A range of facilities will be available, including those for MMA, boxing, and jiu-jitsu.
There will also be an on-site fitness café and takeaway.
Steven Harris, owner and head coach at Goliath MMA, said: “We are about 90 per cent complete now, there’s a few things to fix up.
“From March we have been working around the clock.
“It’s taken a wee while. We’re probably a few months away from fully opening at the moment.”
The venue has been transformed from a “big white building” to what one member described as a “dark but bright” space to workout.
Members are directed to the gym through a referral scheme, so the site is not open for all members right now.

However, in the meantime until the site fully opens, Steven has been receiving a lot of support from the local community.
“The love we have received at the moment is phenomenal," he told the Press.
He has received around 200 messages on his Facebook and Instagram pages with inquiries from people interested in the gym.
Speaking previously to the Press, Steven had said: “MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world. We have guys travelling from all over, so Rosyth is a perfect location.
“It’s so accessible, so I think this is the perfect spot for us.”
The site is located in Rosyth’s Viking Way at Rosyth Dockyard.
The gym has also taken the space below them as well so they can also offer strongman training, powerlifting, and a functional fitness area.
There will also be a sauna and cold plunge recovery.
While the finishing touches are being completed to the building, the next steps for Steven will be to host an open day.
