A DUNFERMLINE man attacked his own dad after getting drunk at a funeral.
The victim sustained injuries after being repeated punched by his son Mark Reid.
Reid, 28, of Broomhead Drive, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on October 2 at Macquarrie Crescent, he assaulted his dad by punching him on the head to his injury.
He also vandalised two vehicles in the vicinity by punching wing mirrors.
Defence solicitor Shona Westwood said: “He has little recollection because of the consumption of alcohol.
"He is paying for repairs to the neighbours’ cars.
“It was his uncle’s funeral that day and he’d been drinking.”
Sheriff Krista Johnston told Reid: “You’ve a lengthy record, particularly for this type of public disorder.”
“It’s not a good look,” admitted Reid from the dock.
He was put on a community payback order with 18 months of supervision and 150 hours of unpaid work.
