A Kelty man stole his gran’s Motability car when he was drunk and crashed it.
In another incident, Garry McBurney brandished a knife and a glass during a disturbance at a Wetherspoons pub in Dunfermline.
McBurney, 34, of Croftangry Road, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on 6th November at the Guildhall and Linen Exchange, High Street, he brandished a glass, dropped it on to a table, causing it to break and brandished a knife.
He also admitted that on 4th January at Croftangry Road, he stole a vehicle.
On the same day on the A907 at Blairhall and other roads in Fife he drove having consumed excess alcohol.
His reading was 28 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.
The court was told the car was a Motability vehicle for his gran which was driven by his mum.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said at 6.30pm McBurney took the car without his mum’s consent and later crashed it into a lamp-post.
Defence solicitor Aime Allan said: “His offending is underpinned by alcohol misuse.”
She added the pub incident occurred after “he was assaulted and reacted in anger and retaliation”.
The court heard McBurney is currently banned from driving.
Sheriff Krista Johnston told him: “You have a bad record for assaults and a very bad record for road traffic offences.”
She jailed him for a year and banned him from driving for five years.
