A Dunfermline drug dealer involved in a “large scale” operation has been jailed.
Amrit Saghera, 40, of North Larches, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing, after admitting offending over a nine-month period.
Between 6th May 2021 and 11th February 2022 at Meldrum Court, Dunfermline or elsewhere, he was concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, cannabis.
Defence solicitor Ryan Sloan said: “His own drugs misuse spiralled into debts and owing money to serious criminals. He felt he had no option.”
He conceded that it was a “fairly large-scale operation” that the father-of-two had been involved with but asked for the sheriff not to jail him.
Sheriff Krista Johnston said it was “large-scale dealing involving multi kilos” and that the large amount of money involved was revealed in messages between Saghera and others.
She jailed him for 13 months.
