DON'T use this public loo in Aberdour or you could get locked in!

That's the advice from Councillor Sarah Neal after problems with toilets in the village were raised with her.

In a Facebook post yesterday (Thursday) she said: "Thank you to the local residents who contacted me about the situation at Shore Road park earlier today.

"Apparently Black Sands beach was very busy, with lots of visitors wanting to use the toilets at Shore Road park, which are out of order again.

"Some visitors were very frustrated!"

The SNP councillor, who represents Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay, continued: "As usual we got an immediate response from Fife Coast & Countryside Trust.

"They confirmed that that toilets were out of use last week due to vandalism but had been quickly repaired.

"This time it's a faulty mechanism in the door - you'd be locked in if you used the toilet!

"A sign had been put to advise of this but had been removed, causing confusion.

"Fife Coast & Countryside Trust have reported this to Fife Council as urgent."

She said a member of the team had been out to put up another sign.

Cllr Neal concluded: "Frustrating for the community but a great response from Fife Coast & Countryside Trust."
