POLICE have recovered a cannabis cultivation worth £176,000 in Fife.

Officers executed a drugs warrant at a property in Benarty Avenue, Lochgelly on Tuesday.

They seized a cannabis cultivation which has an estimated street value of around £176,000.

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. He appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday (Wednesday).

Sergeant Gayle Hopton said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and tackling those responsible for the cultivation and supply of illegal substances is a priority for Police Scotland.
