The enthusiastic and dedicated youth members of Dalgety Players helped raise much needed funds for the company’s upcoming production of the Wizard of Oz.
The youth cast, primarily made up of Munchkins, monkeys, poppies, Ozians and Jitterbugs, amassed £727 which will go towards production costs for the show at the Carnegie Hall.
They managed to raise the cash at a fabulous team bonding day at The Hive - Fife’s LGBT+ Centre in Kirkcaldy - where they decorated cookies, made mugs, bags and t-shirts, and sang on the karaoke!
Before settling down to watch the classic Wizard of Oz film, they also participated in a 5k sponsored walk around Beveridge Park, dubbed the "Wizards Walk".
Kat Bandeira, the director, said: "It’s wonderful to see so many children care about this production and want to see it done well.
"They are all loving weekly rehearsals of singing, dancing and acting and it’s lovely to see their confidence growing week on week."
Fundraising has been a priority for the group, as demonstrated by past events organised by the adult members such as a race night and tombolas at both Rosyth and Dalgety Bay & Hillend gala days.
The Wizard of Oz is scheduled for four shows at Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline from September 12 to 14.
