HEAVY rain and thunderstorms have been forecast to affect Dunfermline and West Fife on Monday. 

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, covering all of the country, while the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) have a flood alert in place for the Kingdom. 

"Thunderstorms may cause some disruption and damage to infrastructure during Monday," they said. 

The weather warning is in place from 2am until 1pm.

Listing what we can expect, the Met Office went on: "Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. 

"There is a small chance that some communities become temporarily cut off by flooded roads.

"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

"There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds."

The Sepa flood alert for Fife says: "Heavy rain on Monday morning could cause significant flooding impacts from surface water.

"Particularly at risk are urban areas and the transport network.

"Impacts may include flooding to low lying land and roads, and individual properties.

"There could also be a danger from fast flowing water."
