A man and woman died in the road crash that happened on the B914 Kelty to Saline road last night.
Police Scotland have this evening issued an update after earlier confirming that the occupants of a white Mercedes car had died after the vehicle left the road at Blairadam.
The fatal crash happened around 8.50pm on Sunday.
Emergency services attended and the two occupants, one male and one female, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their names have not been released.
The road remains closed for crash investigation work and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Inspector James Henry, of Fife road policing, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man and woman who died.
“An investigation is underway and we are appealing for information that could assist with our enquiries.
“If you were in the area at the time then please get in touch, particularly if you have dash-cam footage that could help.”
Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3497 of Sunday, 11 August, 2024.
Kenny Barbour, Local Senior Officer for Clackmannanshire, Fife and Stirling at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, added: “We were alerted at 8.49pm on Sunday, 11 August to reports of a one vehicle road traffic collision on B914 near to Kelty.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene and our crews worked closely with other emergency service partners to make the scene safe.”
“Sadly, two occupants of the vehicle involved have passed away and our thoughts are with their families and friends at this difficult time.”
