Dunfermline MSP Shirley-Anne Somerville has offered her support to Abbeyview Day Centre's fundraising campaign for a new minibus.
Based at Duncan Crescent, it provides essential day care and support services for older people, their families and carers across West Fife.
Last year the Press reported that staff at the centre were hoping to raise £65,000 for a new minibus - the current vehicle is 11-years-old - with the fear that users will lose out if they cant.
Ms Somerville said: "Abbeyview Day Centre is more than just a place for day care; it is a vibrant community hub where older people can connect, laugh and feel supported.
"Whether it is a warm meal, a friendly face or a lively activity, the centre offers essential care that makes a real difference.
"Without a reliable minibus though, many of the centre’s service users risk losing access to these critical services."
The centre provides day care for people aged 65 and over for five days a week, including transport to and from the building, with recreational activities, a three course lunch and all care throughout the day.
There is also a dementia cafe.
Various fundraising initiatives are on the go, including a board member who recently took on a sky dive to aid the cause.
The MSP added: "That is why I will be working with the centre to raise awareness of their fundraising campaign and trying to help them access grants that can move them closer to their target goal."
