A resident artist at a Dunfermline gallery will showcase her first exhibition as part of the Outwith Festival.

Lynn Crombie, a tenant at Fire Station Creative on Carnegie Drive, is going 'Behind the Wall'.

The exhibition features her work from the past year, highlighting her "intuitive" painting style.

Lynn said: "When I have an idea, I get straight to painting, and from there it grows.

"It’s exciting; you want to keep seeing where it’s going to take you - it’s like a journey into your imagination."

Her style is characterised by bright colours and abstract shapes.

For Lynn, painting is a meditative practice that creates a deep connection between creator and spectator.

She said: "Ultimately, what I’m trying to seek is peace. I’m inspired by human beings and the spiritual self.

"I lost my two sisters as well as my mum and dad to cancer. When I paint, I feel their spirit, and it’s as if they’re helping me.

"They are my inspiration, my guardians, and why I do what I love."
