AN OPEN day to celebrate a decade of recycling provision across Fife will take place in Dunfermline next week.
Cireco will hold the event to mark its 10th birthday at its Wellwood facility on Tuesday.
Having developed away from its primary use as a landfill site, Cireco Park is now a resource hub with a Material Recycling Facility, Anaerobic Digestion Plant and heat energy production.
Robin Baird, Chief Executive Officer for Cireco Scotland, said “It’s hard to believe that Cireco is now over 10 years old. We have shown that Cireco can thrive and grow into the successful company we see today.
"I am thrilled to be able to show Elected Members and Fife Council colleagues our amazing facilities and our potential to provide innovative solutions to Fife Council and all our customers."
Set up in April 2014, Cireco Scotland (formerly Resource Efficient Solutions) is an Arm’s Length External Organisation (ALEO) owned by Fife Council.
It handles nearly 300,000 tonnes a year of waste and recyclable material every year, mostly from Fife Council.
Councillor Ross Vettraino, Chair of the Cireco and Fife Resource Solutions board, added “Fife Resource Solutions and Cireco continue to deliver on the promises made a decade ago.
"I am pleased that the company is growing and providing benefit to the Council, its staff, the local economy and the people of Fife."
