AN AWARD-WINNING local beekeeper has launched a new and locally made product.

Gael Wilkinson of Kin Bees has started making hot honey.

It is made with fresh habanero chillis and finishes with the heat from smoky habaneros.

“I brought back some hot honey from a trip to the United States last year and we were putting it on everything from pizza and burgers to cheese and in dressings so when the bottle ran out I decided to make my own.

“It's taken a bit of trial and error over the summer but I really think we've cracked it and initial feedback has been amazing!” Gael explained.

Her Dunfermline honey has no shortage of fans as Kin Bees was the only honey company shortlisted for this year’s Scottish Retail Food and Drink Awards, and Gael even served her produce to King Charles on his official visit to the city.
