THE UK's first rainbow bridge has opened on a woodland path at Comrie.

The structure was officially unveiled on Saturday when local politicians and residents – and some four legged friends – gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The bridge was opened by Donna Dickie, of Clackmannan based Donna's Rescues, who had originally raised the idea with Ronnie Collins from the West Fife Woodlands group.

Plaques remembering much-loved pets can be added to the bridge while it is thought it will be a place where people can go to scatter their pet's ashes and leave their collars or leads.
