A Dunfermline driving instructor has been doing his bit to help motorists navigate the new roundabout lay out and traffic lights at Bothwell Gardens.

Work on the city centre junction was completed last week however the junction is still proving an issue for drivers and the Press reported one crash last week at the revamped thoroughfare.

Michael Hughes, who runs Max Pass Driving School, posted a video – and a drive through – of how the roundabout should be driven and has already had over a thousand views.

"We did videos from the start of everything happening," he told the Press. "We had one at stage one, at stage two of the roadworks then just recently on the new changes.

"I think the more people understand it, the more they might not find it a difficult as I saw there was an accident on the first day it opened.

"I just thought it would be something quite helpful for people in the Dunfermline area and surrounding areas to help them understand how the road lay out goes.

"It is done originally to help our students understand what they are doing for their test but we have been getting a lot of good feedback from it as well."

While the roundabout and the controversial roadworks scheme has had its critics, Michael believes the new lay out could be a positive thing.

"The roundabout is better – kind of," he added. "I just think the traffic lights are the problem just now.

"There's a lot of jumping over from where the sorting office comes out coming the way past the chippy and cars are going into the yellow box.

"There's only room for two cars in each line and people are coming round."
