A NEW cruise which will go from a Fife town to various countries across Europe is set to launch next year.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines announced the Balmoral ship will set sail from Rosyth in 2025, with seven routes planned across Europe – including Iceland, France, Norway, and Denmark.

Each cruise ranges from five to 13 nights, with guests receiving a free drinks package if they book by October 31.

The Balmoral is a smaller-sized ship than a typical cruise ship, meaning it is able to navigate smaller waterways than other cruises, such as the River Seine, the firm said.

The 10-night Scenic Scottish Isles and the West Country cruise will depart from Rosyth on June 7, and will stop at various spots including Lerwick, Fingal’s Cave (pictured below), Falmouth and Portsmouth.

Scots can also get the chance to visit Iceland, where they can experience whale watching whilst taking in the picturesque glaciers, geysers, and waterfalls that the country has to offer.

Doug Glenwright, director of customer experience at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: “Here at Fred. Olsen Cruises, we channel our 175 years of experience into making every single day on board special for our guests.

“At the very heart of this experience is our wonderful crew, whose warm and attentive service is a hallmark of a Fred. Olsen cruise. Each team member goes above and beyond to ensure that our guests’ time on board is filled with remarkable moments that become cherished memories lasting a lifetime.

“On board, guests can enjoy a range of activities, including regional cookery demonstrations, hosted dance classes and stargazing sessions on deck, all designed to enhance their enjoyment and understanding of the destinations on the itinerary.

“We carefully craft our on board experience, just as we take great care when designing our itineraries to ensure we take guests to beautiful destinations at the best times of year and include the most imaginative, scenic sailing routes, some of which are only accessible on smaller ships.”
