A man has been arrested after a house fire in Dunfermline which saw a casualty pulled from the building by emergency services.
The 38-year-old man was arrested after a fire earlier this morning, in which firefighters helped Scottish Ambulance Service staff to rescue a casualty from the building.
Two engines were sent to a residential property in the city's Tweed Street after being alerted at 9.46am today.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 9.46am on Friday, 6 September, to reports of a fire affecting one residential property on Tweed Street in Dunfermline.
"Operations Control immediately mobilised two fire appliances to the scene and assisted the Scottish Ambulance Service in removing one casualty from the property.
"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
Police confirmed that a 38-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident and that enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.35am on Friday, 6 September 2024, we were called to a report of a concern for person and a fire in the Tweed Street area of Dunfermline.
“Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“No-one has been injured and there is no wider risk to the community. Enquiries are ongoing.”
