A NEW convenience store is preparing to open its doors in Aberdour.
Retail chain Greens will be opening its new site in the town’s High Street on Wednesday, October 2.
As previously reported in the Press, there were proposals for a Co-op to open on the site in November 2021. This came after the Co-op received planning permission to knock down an existing car garage and former cottages on the site.
However, the Co-op's plans fell through.
Then in April, Greens Retail confirmed that they would be opening in the town.
Caroline Cunningham, area manager at Greens Retail, commented: "We know how long the village has waited for this store to open, and as a local family business based in Kirkcaldy, it gives us great pride to be the ones making it a reality.
“We're big supporters of local suppliers, and we are particularly excited to showcase some of Fife's finest, such as Fisher & Donaldson, Savage Kitchen, Temptations Bakery, Skwishee, and more.
“It's a beautiful store in a beautiful village, and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to become part of such a wonderful community."
Greens are also looking for new team members to join the new shop. They are currently looking for a store manager, assistant manager, team leaders, and sales assistants.

"We are looking to build a dedicated team that will ensure an exceptional customer experience. The store manager will oversee the entire operation, ensuring smooth day-to-day running, managing inventory, driving sales, and engaging with the community.
“The assistant manager will support the store manager in these tasks, help with staff training, and step in when the manager is unavailable.
“Team leaders will be responsible for guiding our sales assistants, ensuring high customer service standards, and managing specific sections of the store.
"Sales assistants will play a vital role in engaging with customers, handling transactions, restocking products, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
“Together, our team will provide a friendly and efficient shopping experience for our customers,” Caroline added.
