THE Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline aims to dazzle audiences this winter with an impressive line-up of shows and performances.

Following on from a hugely successful spring/summer season which included Paul Weller, Paloma Faith, Paul Smith and The Mousetrap, the star names keep on coming. 

Simon Reeve, Katherine Ryan, Rhod Gilbert, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel-Horwood, Jimmy Carr, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Wet Wet Wet and Heather Small will all be in the city.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Artie, Tide Lines, Showaddywaddy, Emma Kenny and Myra’s Story will also take to the stage in Dunfermline alongside world-class dance and theatre spectaculars.

There's plenty of comedy with a double-night run in October for Janey Godley and a week of laughs in November when Larry Dean, Karen Dunbar and Paddy McGuinness all play in the city within five days.

Also on the bill will be Gary Meikle while Alhambra favourite Jason Byrne is back again with a new show, called No Show, including props!

In the new year, Jimmy Carr returns to Dunfermline while Netflix star, comedian and writer Katherine Ryan will bring her latest show, Battleaxe to the Canmore Street venue in March.

Nina Conti and her puppet Monkey, Rhod Gilbert and Jason Manford will also be heading to the Alhambra in 2025.

There is plenty of choice for music lovers with lead singer of the Moody Blues, Justin Hayward, heading here with his Blue World tour on October 9, while Scottish group Tide Lines hit the stage on November 28.

The year will be rounded off in some style with two ground-shaking sets from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers on December 30.

Love will be all around the theatre in March with Wet Wet Wet - featuring support from M People singer Heather Small - dropping in for a gig.

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will be celebrated in ‘The Man In The Mirror’ in April 2025.

In May we're heading back to the 70s when Showaddywaddy ruled, and they're still thrilling audiences with their timeless pop hits and energetic performances.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac will return to the Alhambra next year following two sold out performances in May.

Fife’s biggest panto will return with Jack and the Beanstalk and an all-star cast including Ian ‘Sheepie' Smith and River City and The Dolls star, Gayle Telfer Stevens.

Continuing the festive theme, Singing Kettle legend Artie will be up for his Hogmanay Party on December 31.

Into the new year and a huge attraction with the National History Museum bringing their Dinosaurs Live interactive show to the venue. It will bring prehistoric creatures to life with puppetry to give an educational and entertaining experience for youngsters.

Scottish Ballet will visit the Alhambra for the first time in October, promising some classical ballet with a modern twist.  

Local amateur dramatics group, Limelight Productions, will present Ghost: The Musical next month, their version of the much-loved film with their own production and choreography.

Adventurer and star of BBC series Equator, Tropic of Capricorn, and many more, Simon Reeve will be at the theatre in November to tell tales of his worldwide travels and some of the cultures he has experienced in To the Ends of the Earth.

With murder in mind, criminologist and TV expert Professor Emma Kenny will discuss The Serial Killer Next Door.

She will be applying her expertise to understand the drive behind some of the most evil criminals.

On a lighter note, Strictly judge Anton Du Beke will sashay into the city with his festive extravaganza, Christmas with Anton.

Step Into Christmas is the ultimate celebration of the most wonderful time of the year, and Fairytale of New York asks the audience to imagine a 'Christmas party on St Patrick's Day'.

The Strictly judge everyone loves to hate, Craig Revel Horwood, comes to the theatre next June, bringing the audience his latest show Revelations: Songs Boys Don’t Sing.

One-woman show, the award-winning Myra’s story will return in March with a heart-wrenching tale of addiction and homelessness.

Also next year, in September 2025, audiences will step into the Time Warp when Dr. Frank N. Furter and the crew return with the West End production of The Rocky Horror Show. 

You don't have to wait for top quality entertainment though.

Ben Portsmouth is at the Alhambra this month, September 28, with his This is Elvis show, while The Illegal Eagles rock up on October 25.

In November, Martin Kemp will spin the discs for his Back To The 80’s DJ set while Gary Mullen will bring his One Night of Queen show to the stage and ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ will pay tribute to Tina Turner.
