A GROUP of retired and present Rosyth Dockyard workers have given a cheque for £700 to the volunteers at Queen Margaret Hospital Haven garden.

Once A Dockie Always A Dockie (OADAAD) over the years have raised funds for good causes such as Refuge, Victoria Hospital Children’s Ward, CHAS, and a young dockie colleague who tragically died young and left behind a young family.

One of the group’s members volunteers in the hospital’s Haven Garden, which is in the process of raising money to build a rock garden at the hospital main entrance.

The group had £350 left over from a previous raffle and have now presented volunteers at the garden with a cheque for a total of £700.

They are now already working on creating the rock garden.

Archie Frail, a member of OADAAD, commented: "We were amazed by the great work the volunteers have done with the Haven Garden, in fact the £700 we gave them to create a rock garden has already been spent and the volunteers are already working on the rock garden."
