NEW OWNERS have been announced for a popular West Fife Hotel.

Husband and wife team, Jason and Victoria Borthwick, have taken over The Aberdour Hotel in the town’s High Street.

This comes after the previous owners, Scott and Iona Wilkinson, who had been in charge since the beginning of 2007, decided to put the property back on the market.

From Dalgety Bay, the couple have a background in hospitality, as they also own The Burntisland Sands Hotel.

Jason has also been in the sector all his life, and has managed various outlets throughout his career, including PJs in Dunfermline when he was younger.

He told the Press that: “We were looking to get a second business, so we own The Burntisland Sands Hotel in Burntisland, and been there about seven years.

He added that they were “just looking for another project really, and Aberdour came up.

“We have always liked the look, its always had a great reputation for its food, so we thought why not have a look at it.”

The couple will also be keeping The Burntisland Sands Hotel, while they make their changes to The Aberdour Hotel.

Jason added that they “won’t have a full refurbishment, but there will be touches as such. We have got plans to freshen the place up.

“It’s a good going business we have inherited, a real opportunity. Its already got a good reputation for its food and service, we’re just looking to give it a refresh.”

They are also planning to develop a courtyard at the back of the hotel, which Jason described as “a real hidden gem”.

Jason and Victoria are now looking ahead to their first Christmas in the premises, and dates for the festive period are already filling up.

“Christmas is looking really busy and it’s a good time of year to get into the business as well.

“I’m confident we will soon be quite busy.” Jason added.
