Brought to you by
Fife Council
Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy crematoriums have been serving the Fife public from 1973 and 1959, respectively.
We are here to serve the population of Fife with dignity and care and offer services from Direct Funerals starting from £462, this is a low-cost funeral option that involves a cremation without a ceremony or service, and usually without mourners. You can choose to use a funeral director or make your own arrangements where we will guide you through the process.
Direct funerals are becoming more popular because they are a good choice for those who want a simple send-off or who don't want a fuss when they pass away.
The crematoriums have a seating capacity of 170, but people can also stand at the back, in the foyer, and outside the crematorium, where there are loudspeakers.
At our crematorium, we are committed to providing a compassionate and high-quality service to all families. As part of our ‘Open Door’ policy, we invite you to make an appointment to visit the crematorium and see firsthand how everything works. We understand that this is a deeply personal experience, and transparency is important. During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about our procedures and ask any questions you may have.
Every coffin we receive is treated with the utmost respect. Upon arrival, it is brought through the front door and cremated individually, exactly as it was received after the service. We assure you that no items are removed from the coffin, except for floral tributes, which will be thoughtfully laid out for your viewing after the ceremony.
In compliance with legislation on emissions, we follow strict guidelines regarding the materials used for coffins and the clothing for the deceased. Only natural fibres, such as cotton or wool, are suitable for cremation. Additionally, it is important that items such as glass, books, steel-toe-capped boots, or other mementoes are not placed in the coffin, as they can cause high emissions and damage the cremation equipment.
We are here to guide you through every step, ensuring dignity and care throughout the process. For more information or to arrange a visit, please feel free to contact us.
Your peace of mind is our priority.
