Roadworks on the A823 (M) are set to start as work begins to install new barriers.

The westbound route will shut between the M90 and the Pitreavie roundabout on Sunday from 8pm until 6am.

The works, which will see the installation of a new vehicle restraint system along the verges on the westbound carriageway between the M90 and Boleside Road footpath, have been provisionally programmed to last two weeks.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These upgrades will improve safety for users of the A823(M). It’s necessary to close the carriageway while we carry out the work, however we’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption.

“We’re grateful to road users for their patience and understanding.”

The diversion routes for both M90 approaches is to come off at Admiralty roundabout (Junction 1C) turn onto the A985 to Kings Road B980 turn right and follow the road to Pitreavie Roundabout where the diversion ends.

This will be reversed for vehicles trying to enter onto the A823m from Pitreavie Roundabout and will be signposted along the route during the closure.
