ROADWORKS planned to take place on a Fife roundabout have now been rescheduled.

Originally set to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, September 25 and 26, the resurfacing works for the A977 Gartarry Roundabout have now been moved to October 2 and 3.

These works have been moved to allow BEAR Scotland to carry out carriageway resurfacing works on Gartarry Roundabout.

For Wednesday, October 2, the southern section of the roundabout will be closed from 7.30pm to 6.30am, preventing access to or from Clackmannan Road or the A977 south to Kincardine.

A signed diversion will be in place between Gartarry Roundabout and the A876, via the A907 west through Alloa, the A91 and the A905 Bowtrees Junction.

The second part of the resurfacing works is scheduled for the following night, with the northern section of the roundabout closed between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

This will prevent access to and from Clackmannan Road and the !977 to the north, via the A907, A91, and the B913.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead by checking traffic.gov.scot.

Tommy Deans, south east network manager for BEAR Scotland, said: “These surfacing improvements will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracking, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists.

“It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway during the works, however we’ve scheduled them during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience and understanding.”

Consultations have been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

All work is currently weather dependant and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
