A Dunfermline vehicle care business has overtaken the competition to secure an industry award.

Zoldani Auto Salon was founded by Barry Horne, a decorated race car driver who has multiple British and European Championship wins to his name.

He was delighted to find out that the Salon has been named Vehicle Enhancement Company of the Year by Corporate Livewire.

Mr Horne said: “The fact that we’ve won this award just shows the level of detail that we go into.

"A lot of people’s cars are their pride and joy and it’s not the cheapest to give one some TLC. I think having a heated facility where it’s super clean, we have CCTV, and it’s all insured makes all the difference for our customers.

“We want to show that we’re the real deal. We’re not snobby, we could be doing a Fiat 500 or a Ferrari. We don’t pigeonhole ourselves into only doing fancy cars or expensive cars.”

Mr Horne opened his business five years ago, inspired by his love of vehicles.

He said: “I’ve always had a passion for cars, and as soon as I could afford a fancy car, I got one.

“Years ago, I was really involved in racing myself, but as I got older, I found myself on the other side of the pit wall. I love coaching the drivers and I now manage Porsche’s Team Parker.”

“I’ve been involved with Porsche for the last twenty odd years. I built a good relationship up with head office, and I got to know people in the paint protection business. Then they were looking for people in Scotland and I opened.

“Between the three of us in the salon we’ve got experience of over 30 years, and we’re just getting better.”
