ROADWORKS scheduled to take place on a busy slip road near Fife have now been rescheduled, with drivers urged to plan ahead for the new dates.

The slip road exiting the westbound A876 at Junction 3 Bowtrees is set to undergo carriageway resurfacing works.

The section of the road highlighted is the slip road which connects to both the Clackmannanshire and Kincardine Bridges, which is set to cause disruption to motorists.

Originally scheduled for September 27 and 30, the roadworks have now been pushed back a week to Thursday and Friday, October 3 and 4.

These roadworks will be held through the night, with the road closed between 7.30pm and 6am on the following day.

A signed diversion route will be in place via the A876 South Approach Road westbound, exiting via the local traffic slip road to Bowtrees Roundabout.

Drivers should then take the second exit to join the slip road onto the M876 westbound.

The planned diversion will add approximately 0.8 miles and one minute to affected journeys.

Tommy Deans, south east network manager for BEAR Scotland, said: “We thank road users and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out these resurfacing works.

“It is essential that we close the slip road during the works to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

“However, we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.”

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
