A ROAD in West Fife will close for several days next month.

Low Causeway Road in Culross will be shut from October 14 to 17 to connect new streetlights in the area.

A spokesperson for SP Energy Networks said: “We will be shutting Low Causeway Road from 14 to 17 October to carry out work to connect new streetlights in the area as requested by Fife Council and are working closely with them to discuss our plans.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this work will cause and thank the community for their patience whilst we carry out this work.”

This will impact several bus services that travel through the village.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach East Scotland said “We can confirm that services 8A, 28 and 88A are subject to diversion and subsequent delay, due to a closure on Low Causeway in Culross.

A spokesperson for Fife Council commented: “The road's going to be closed between 14-17 October for Scottish Power works associated with a street lighting replacement scheme, and renewal of a pipe.

“The closure will be between Mid Causeway and Barbara Stocks Lane, with traffic being diverted via the C5, A985 and B9037.

“The normal bus service will serve as far as Culross East car park.  During the closure period there will be a temporary shuttle bus provided that commuters can board at Culross West car park, taking them up to High Street, Kincardine and vice versa.

“We'll be in touch directly with residents and businesses about bin collections during this time.”
