A Dunfermline butcher has been celebrated for its expertise in the field of sausages.

Bryan Beveridge Quality Butchers won a silver award at the Scottish Craft Butchers awards for its Pork Mohawk.

Mr Beveridge said: “It’s a Pork boneless chop done with a honey and mustard stuffing. This recognition just gives everything a lift, considering the highs, lows, and hardships of the moment.

“We’ve got Porktober coming up, and after that Christmas. There’s a bit of a lull between then, so a feel-good story leading up to the festive period will help.

Speaking about the pressures facing his business, Mr Beveridge said: “Dunfermline High Street is Hard. When the weather’s fine everybody comes out, but when it’s poor it’s hard. We’ve got an empty shop to the left and right side of us.

“If you want to come to the butchers you’ve got to make a point of it because it’s not exactly on the doorstep. We've just had a shop refit so we'll be promoting the mohawk lots now."
