Dunfermline's Duloch Park and Calais Woods are in line for £22,400 worth of improvements.

This is thanks to a Community Recovery Fund investment from area committee councillors on Tuesday.

Committee members unanimously agreed to invest the money for a suite of nature trail enhancements and improvements as well as new signage and information boards.

“As a local ward councillor, the investment in Duloch Park is going to have a really transformative impact there,” committee convener James Calder said.

“We want to build on the great things already happening in our area, making sure there are opportunities for everyone and that our city thrives.”

The improvements will include the installation of a new accessible nature trail within the park.

The new trail will be created by widening and enhancing an existing grass path and adding points of interest along the way.

Animal/Bird posts will also be placed along the existing woodland paths.

Posts with rubbing plaques attached will allow children to collect rubbings of animals and birds found within Calais Woods as part of an interactive trail.

According to a committee report, the improvements “will allow a greater number of people to experience the ‘wilder’ parts of the greenspace, including the local Calaiswood school”.
