FIVE GUYS have revealed the exact opening date of their Dunfermline store.

The popular burger chain restaurant had previously said the new outlet would be opening in October, however a new statement gives the exact opening date.

It comes after signage was put up on the old Eastern Buffet earlier this month.

Five Guys’ latest branch will open at Fife Leisure Park on Monday, October 14.

John Eckbert, CEO of Five Guys UK, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our new restaurant and bringing our famous burgers, fries and shakes to Dunfermline.

“We pride ourselves on using only the freshest ingredients and offering a wide range of customisation options to suit every taste. We can’t wait to welcome Dunfermline residents and visitors to our new restaurant on Monday October 14.”

Founded in Virginia in 1986 and launched in the UK in 2013 in London’s Covent Garden, the Dunfermline store will be the 13th store in Scotland, and the first in Fife.

It will join the likes of McDonald's and Smashburger, as well as KFC, Frankie and Benny's, Pizza Hut, Tony Macaroni and Tim Horton's, at Fife Leisure Park.

The much-anticipated store was announced last November when the American firm applied for planning permission from Fife Council to transform the old Eastern Buffet restaurant on Whimbrel Place.

They were seeking permission for £325,000 worth of internal alterations to the existing restaurant, including kitchen facilities, partitions and seating, beverage and milkshake areas, unisex toilets, staff lockers, a store room, kitchen, prep area, a walk-in chiller, as well as advertising consent for signs.

Now, 11 months later, they are finally ready to open.
