A Dunfermline “pop funk” group are looking forward to headlining a hometown gig this month at PJ Molloys.
The band Bears with Feathers will play the city centre venue on October 26.
Founding member Scott Anstruther said: “This is our first headline gig since playing at Murrayfield back in November 2022. We’re glad to be back in a positive position after the band changed its line up a couple of years ago.
“Bands always evolve, and we are now in a better position to be capable of headlining shows.”
Scott started the band as a passion project during his time at university. He said: “After I finished my degree, I started to take it a bit more seriously. The members were met along the way through friends and the local music scene.
“I needed a name for my project and I thought of concepts to do with animals. Lots of names came flying out the hat like 'Cats with Glasses' and 'Giraffes with Hats'.
"That sort of silly indie idea eventually landed on Bears with Feathers as that had the best image I could see in my head!"
The band consists of five members, including Scott on guitar and vocals, Rian Hamilton on lead vocals and keyboard, Daniel Spurgeon on bass, Dominic Hardy on drums and vocals, and newest member Maggie Duffus on saxophone and vocals.
Maggie said: “After joining the band back in March I'm most looking forward to playing publicly with the guys for the first time. Practices have been really fun for the last few months, and it will be great to see an audience react to the sound we have been creating.”
