A DULOCH family is hoping to tap into the dance market in the Kingdom with their very own store in Crossgates.
Kirsty Smart has opened up her new venture, Lunara Dancewear, on Main Street and is looking forward to welcoming customers to what she believes to be "the only dance shop in Fife".
She told the Press: "I used to dance when I was younger - when I was a little girl - but my daughter is a dancer and she does competitive dance.
"We’re a dance family and that's what this is, it’s just offering other dance families in Fife the opportunity to come in and buy their dancewear locally.
"We’re a small local business that wants to be able to help people with their dancewear needs, especially with their last minute purchases for competitions and shows!"
Centrally located, just off the motorway and with free parking, Kirsty believes that her new shop is the best way to get all your dancewear supplies, whether that be larger pieces of equipment, or the everyday essentials like shoes.
She continued: "Most people who have come in have asked for advice on what to wear, they want to try on different sizes or see products in person, and most importantly, have shoes fitted correctly or be able to come in and try on the dance shoes.
"I’m also booked into a pointe fitting class. Not all dance shops offer that either so we will be offering a pointe shoe fitting service soon."
They had their grand opening on Saturday, October 5, and were delighted to welcome the local dance community in for some cake, food and drinks.
In fact, she was so popular that she had to restock!
Kirsty added: "It went really well, a lot of people turned up which was lovely, but it was a bit of a panic because of the stock we got through! I think I've now managed to replenish it.
"It seemed to be really popular, it's fantastic and we’re going to be the only dance shop in Fife so I think a lot of people are excited to see it come to the area."
Lunara Dancewear will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. For more information, visit them on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
