A 22-year-old man has been jailed for repeated offending going back more than three years.

Jake Metcalfe, formerly of the James Bank Hostel, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on 19th March this year at Craigmyle Street, Dunfermline, he attended at a house uninvited, entered the property without permission, shouted, swore and acted in an aggressive manner to two people there.

On 10th August last year at Brankholm View, Rosyth, he shouted, swore, acted aggressively and repeatedly made threats of violence towards a male.

There had been a confrontation between the pair with words exchanged.

The other male then ran away, jumping a fence. Metcalfe pursued him over the fence and was shouting, “I’m going to kill you and your family.”

He had to be sentenced again for offences committed at the James Bank Hostel more than three years ago, having breached his community payback order.

On 10th May 2021 at the homeless hostel, he acted in a racially aggravated manner by repeatedly shouting, swearing and making racial remarks to an employee.

He then assaulted another employee there, a 62-year-old man, by striking him on the head with a can, repeatedly punched and kicked him on the body, engaged in a struggle with him, seized him by the head and attempted to strike him with a bicycle, all to his injury.

Sheriff Garry Sutherland jailed Metcalfe for a total of six months.
