It was a double win for a Rosyth care home after it was recognised at the 2024 Meallmore Colleague Awards.

Hilton Court Care Home won the Specialist Service of the Year category and its staff was recognised in the Emerging Talent category.

Suzanne Pitt, manager of the care home, said: "We’re really proud and delighted to win this award for the second time in a row, and it’s thanks to all the team."

The Specialist Service of the Year award acknowledges a care home that demonstrates a 'one-team' approach and offers respectful, person-centred care, focusing on improving outcomes and aspirations.

The nominations described Hilton Court as a great place to live and work, with their care inspectorate grades, internal audit, and training levels reflecting their commitment to success.

Howard was applauded for setting up a gardening club for residents and for his ability to understand and connect with everyone's needs.

He said: "This is something I totally never expected – this is my first year working in care, but I think everyone seems to like me.

"I just get stuck in, and the residents come first in every aspect of the day.

"I’d like to say a big thank you to all my work colleagues who have nominated me for this."

The annual awards were presented by singer and TV personality Michelle McManus and held to celebrate Meallmore colleagues who have made a positive impact on the lives of residents over the past year.

Winners were presented with a certificate, trophy, and choice of prize which included an Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, and Nintendo Switch among others.
