IMPROVEMENTS to play parks in Dunfermline and West Fife are set to swing into action after a cash allocation.

Scottish Government Play Park Funding will see projects being able to progress for several play facilities in the area.

Fife Council have confirmed that in Dunfermline, the park in Headwell Avenue will benefit from £60,000, St Leonard's will be allocated £80,000, the Duloch Play Park project will receive £120,000 while £110,000 has been earmarked for the Broomhead Play area.

All projects are likely to be delivered in 2025 and 2026.

An update in the newsletter of Dalgety Bay and Inverkeithing councillors David Barratt and Sarah Neal revealed the parks in South West Fife which will see money spent on them.

It stated: "In an effort to maximise local investment, we have spread the money across a number of playparks and hope to work with local groups to apply for further funding to deliver more play equipment.

"£40,000 has been agreed for a new park at the top of the Link Road in Dalgety Bay, building on funding already secured, making this project almost fully funded.

"£25,000 has been allocated to further developing Inchmickery in Dalgety Bay, £50,000 has been allocated to the Friary play park in Inverkeithing and £25,000 to Silver Sands in Aberdour, which is in addition to the £50,000 resulting from the CALA development."
