SCOTTISH Water says it has addressed historical issues with the water supply in Kingseat following outages that impacted residents at the weekend.
A burst pipe on Sunday caused disruption to households in the village and the surrounding areas who experienced pressure loss and discoloured water.
Providing an update, local councillor Gavin Ellis said: “The chief executive has taken action by putting a plan together specifically for Kingseat.
“I did explain to them that especially in the winter months the village can kind of get cut off, so it’s good to have an acknowledgement that they will prioritise Kingseat.”

He previously highlighted that the village has experienced a disproportionate number of outages.
A Scottish Water spokesperson confirmed that Kingseat has suffered from "multiple service interruptions" over a period of years.
“This has been predominantly due to recurring asset issues Scottish Water have had with our break pressure tank at Redcraigs, located five miles upstream of Kingseat near Lathalmond," they said.
“We completed some Capital Investment work in 2023 to permanently remove this asset from service and replaced it with a far more reliable twin Pressure Reducing Valve arrangement.
"Since we completed our capital intervention works, there have been no service interruptions throughout 2024 until the upstream trunk main burst on Sunday, October 6.
"We are satisfied that we have significantly improved our overall resilience around the Kingseat area with the capital investment work outlined above, but we do acknowledge that our customer response following Sunday's trunk main burst has fallen short of our excellent levels of customer service.

"With this in mind, we will formulate a dedicated response plan for any future unplanned service interruptions in the village of Kingseat.
"The completed response plan will be shared amongst key stakeholders within Scottish water to ensure we respond quickly and effectively to any future risk to water supplies.”
The company has assured residents that alternative supplies including bottled water will be made available in case of future problems.
Commenting on the response to Sunday’s issues, Cllr Ellis added: “Previously there had been bottled water deposited, so it was quite strange this time round that there wasn’t.”
