THE M90 southbound near Dunfermline will be closed during this week to allow for works to take place.

Work began last night (Monday, October 14) to improve the road surface and make repairs between Junction 2 and Junction 2 Southbound Off Slip in Dunfermline.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South-East Network Manager said: “These surfacing improvements will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracking, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists.

“It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway, however, we’ve scheduled the works during overnight hours to minimise any disruption. We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”

The road will be closed between 8pm and 6am for the next three nights to allow for these works to be completed safely.

The A92 Southbound on slip will be closed with a signed diversion will be in place between Halbeath Junction and Admiralty Junction with traffic diverted via Sandpiper Drive, Lapwing Drive, St Margarets Roundabout, Pitreavie Roundabout, Kings Road and the A985.

This diversion will add approximately 11 minutes and 2 miles to affected journeys.
