DAMAGE to SGN's gas network has resulted in a loss of supply in West Fife.
Around 1,290 properties in the Kincardine area have been affected by this issue and engineers and specialists are working to assess the damage and determine the cause of the incident.
SGN has confirmed that they will be visiting properties to turn off their gas supplies at the meter.
On their website, they added: "Please wait for one of our engineers and do not try to do this yourself. It is important that you do not try to use your gas supply at this time."
The British gas distribution company has opened a Customer Centre at Kincardine Community Centre on Anderson Lane and has their customer service team there offering support and answering questions.
An update on the incident and their progress is due at 5:30 pm today (Tuesday, October 15).
