A total of eight takeaways in West and Central Fife have failed their hygiene test, according to Fife Council.
While in England, Wales and Northern Ireland ratings are given on a scale of 1-5, in Scotland an eatery can only pass or fail, with any that don't gain a pass being listed as Improvement Required.
Out of the 23 takeaways or sandwich shops across Fife which failed to meet the required standard, eight of them were hit with the Improvement Required rating dished out by the local authority.
We’ve rounded up the most recent results from inspections that have been published by the Food Standards Agency and can be found at www.food.gov.uk
All ratings are as listed by the FSA on its website at the time of creating this list on Thursday, October 17.
