DUNFERMLINE shoppers were stopped short this morning when two major supermarkets closed unexpectedly.
Aldi on Nightingale Place and Tesco on Turnstone Road were both shut today with reports on social media suggesting that they were unable to accommodate customers due to a power cut in the area.
A spokesperson for SP Energy Networks confirmed: “At just after 2.20 this morning, a cable fault caused a power cut to a number of homes in the Dunfermline area.
"Power was restored to all affected properties within an hour and we would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
Aldi have confirmed that the store was affected by the overnight power cut.
