A Rosyth drug-driver was almost five times over the limit for cannabis when stopped by the police.

Diana Pedroso, 37, of Sherbrooke Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted the offence.

On December 1 last year on Masterton Road, Dunfermline, she drove a car having consumed excess cannabis.

Her reading was 9.8 micrograms of THC per litre of blood, the limit being 2.0 micrograms.

Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said the incident occurred at around midnight.

Defence solicitor Shona Westwood said her client had “smoked a joint after returning home from work.”

She went on: “She then made a very poor decision to drive to her partner’s home and was stopped because one of her lights was out.”

Sheriff Krista Johnston pointed out it was a high reading, banned Pedroso from driving for a year and fined her £420.
